Chapter 29 – Subtle Eerie

The letter contains words that were indeed confusing when Laken viewed it in his head. He read it aloud for everyone. “The beasts no longer bounded. A heart where it is lost, your desire cannot be quenched; come to the land of pitch-black skies, where the two moons shall not rise just like the sun. Only then the queen shall cherish your wishes,” Laken traced the letter. “That letter was left behind by the culprit. Only the Dethrim has pitch-black sky because of the phenomenon in their lands,” Lena rationalizes. “Plus, I think these people are some kind of cult that serves the one whoever they call the queen,” she added to the guess. The gist of the idea is visibly working together. “Wishes huh...?” Eirisse muttered to herself but only Luciella heard it. She's worried about Eirisse when she averted her face on the conversation. “Don't get me wrong you three, Bloodless, Heartless, and Voiceless Revenant. I and my sister didn't tell you this information to help you acquire them, but for us to cooperate temporarily and we'll decide after everything has fixed,” Lena declared with her pride. “You knew even us? Just how far you figured about us?” Laken inquired. “Well, the fact that Luciella holds six shards. I think that's all we sisters know about,” Lena confessed. The grimace of Laken is visibly scaring Luna away. He balanced his composure since the sisters understand wicked things will happen if they are to fight in the middle of the city. “Do as you please, but if you try anything funny like assaulting Luciella without my permission, I'll make sure you'll watch me devouring your heart...” Eirisse told to the sisters. She faced the floor restraining her emotion. She's making sure that Luciella will be safe no matter what. “I don't understand why the Tower of Sorcerers decided to hunt down the Revenants... well I can't absolutely say you all were good persons either, but I'll take your words,” Lena huffed before she left with her sister Luna. “Do you want me to assassinate them? My rider mode is itching to kill those brats,” steam come out from Xenon's head. “Remain calm Xenon. Lena would seriously and willingly cooperate with us, and she just declared that we can steal the shards to them once everything is fixed.” Laken always seeks a path with an advantage. “Luciella is there something wrong?” Eirisse is worried. “No. I'm fine. I'm thinking about the letter behind its meaning,” Luciella contemplates her thoughts. Eirisse wanted to embrace her but she thought she'll just be a hinder to her. “Now that I remembered, isn't the shady guy that probably summoned the Nightbeast Ursus in the Pine Forest had also a mark in his hand?” Laken recognized. “I remembered it too. It seems they certainly are cult that tries to spell the doom of the world,” Xenon felt a little bit uneasiness. The group continued with their analysis. About the Nightbeasts appearing in the daytime, Dark Entity being born again, and much more that could possibly repeat the war in the past according to the prophecy on Laken's nightmare. Laken worked harder more than anyone to prevent the war, for the wished he longed to fulfill. Even if tearing the heavens apart will save the world, Laken shall find a way to secure the future he once lost. The rest of the day, the group visited different tourist spots in the Frostwolf. Like the magic street next to the plaza. The museum of the ice age and many more until the day pass by before they realized it. The party and the twin sisters’ rendezvous at the coast. Double-checking their things if they ever forgot something. Together they embarked on the ship as the staff ushers them to a specific room that is part of the privilege of the merchant's pass. They entered a spacious room with six queen-sized beds that includes a high-class fabric blanket and a comfy pillow. The view from the windows is great they don't need to get out to get a better glimpse of the seas. “Hey Xenon, just how much is this room? And what ticket did you bought anyways?”  Laken can't even begin to accept such a luxurious set-up. The sisters gleefully sprawled on the bed near the corner of the room. They giggled and started to have a pillow fight. “Come fight us Laken!” Lena throws pillows to Laken one after another. The bewildered Laken is just staring back at them with a stern countenance. “You comprehend we are mortal enemies, right?” Laken had a blank expression. Lena picks up the pillows on the floor and said, “Who cares about that stuff? You're stingy and doesn't understand how the world works, you're plain kill joy,” Lena mocked him. She pesters Laken by sticking her tongue out while pulling her cheeks. “What did you say?!” Laken picks up a pillow and threw it right at Lena's face but instead, she dodged and it's a direct hit on Luna's face. Luna's just standing there facing downward. Laken wanted to apologize but he paused going near her when she picks up a pillow. Held it tight to the point that the pillow was frozen solid and threw it at him with everything she got. “Woah!” Laken dodges by sliding sideways. The pillow directly hit Xenon's head bullseye. “Argh!” Xenon screech in pain with high-pitch metal sounds. He fell on the floor unconscious. “So-Sorry!” Luna apologizes to Xenon. She wakes him up thinking she might have killed him.  Eirisse and Luciella just placed their things near the table at the bedside when they heard the clanking metal. Luciella went to the scene where she saw Xenon unconscious. “No, I should be the one to feel sorry, Luna,” Laken apologizes earnestly. “I forgive you! Please wake up metal guy...!” Luna was trying hard to wake him up that she forgot her bashfulness. Laken just gave him another head-chopping which worried Luna even more, but that made Xenon's gears function again. “Reboot completed,” he said in a monotonic tone as he woke up, “The name's Xenon. I should be all right little lady. The pillow made me hibernate forcibly.” Xenon explained. He stands up as if nothing happened, “Fear not, I die only when my core is destroyed,” he added also taking care of his things. When Luna ascertained that Xenon is fine, she immediately went behind her sister. “I'm sorry too. Forget what just happened,” Lena comforted her sister. Luna truly thought she killed someone inadvertently but now she's fine. Luna is a remarkably kind and modest Heavenly Hero who freezes her opponent to death, which she blames the cold if she ever needs to hurt someone when defending herself. “About your question Laken, this is the orthodoxical treatment for traders. We'll be on the ship for up to eight days before we arrive at Redshore Port,” Xenon answered his question. “Our stay had meals right?” Lena asked to Xenon. “Yes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we have no problem.” Xenon replied showing them the document but they didn't care. The sisters instead sprawled back to the bed enjoying the comfy pillows. “Yey! Let's get along for now.” Lena's being happy-go-lucky. The party observed that even though they had the glorious title of Heavenly Hero, they are still young and wanted to enjoy their life to the fullest. They didn't discriminate or judge based on what they hear about Laken. He doesn't know if they are just naive or just enjoying themselves. Laken at least fathoms that they mean no harm. The sisters made Laken see the world in a different view over something that he had forgotten. “They are good girls aren't they?” Luciella smiled watching the sisters' bond. “Well, they are childish,” Laken remarked. He sat on the bed near Luciella's. “Aren't they child though?” Xenon asked a dumb question. “They are at least fourteen I think, Eirisse guessed their age. “I and my sister are thirteen years old. And I was chosen as the fourth Heavenly Hero when I was seven years old,” Lena blurted after eavesdropping on their conversation. “In terms of pure talent, my sister should be the fourth. Instead chosen to be fifth because she lacks confidence in doing her work,” Lena added. “That's amazing despite your age,” Luciella complimented the sisters. “Of course we are!” Lena's vanity is clear. She laughs like someone just proved something. Laken dons his white mask and white cloak and wanted to receive fresh air in the deck when he realizes the ship's swaying is gradually becoming stronger. He felt a surprisingly strong surge flow of magic encompassing the vicinity in just a blink of an eye.
