Chapter 52 – The Sound of the Voiceless

1472 Words
The party accepted the fact that they did not realize the enemy is just hiding amid the false pretense. Alice was the one who was affected the most. She let the enemy's force unbeknownst to her proximity. She dropped her wand from shuddering and doesn't know what to do. Worried that she will be the one to blame, Laken wakes up Alice from her nightmare that's tying her trembling hands. He gave her a very powerful head-chop and imparted the words she needed the most, “Will you stop hiding now Alice? You're a Heavenly Hero and you should save the celestials!” Alice was still frightened. She was really hopeless and was trying to act cool because she was pressured by her title. But even if that was the case, Laken thinks the power to stand up for the righteous comes not from power nor any authority, but the courage to take a step towards for what is right, whether if it is considered wrong. Laken held her trembling palms. He knew she needed the courage to take even just a single step, “You're no longer alone Alice, we are here to help aren't we?” The small candle in her heart was rekindled again. The burning blue flames of hope when Alice gazes upon the man who killed countless lives stays true no matter what he did experience. Alice grabbed her wand and stands up with unwavering determination, “We are a team for now. I will take care of Sheria for the meantime, you fix that mechanoid.” “We will.” Laken declared because that's what they always do, help each other, and together bring down the enemy that dared to face the cursed ones. She chanted the language of the ancients, “Aports!” Alice invoked her teleportation spell to follow the rouge mechanoid Sheria has become. Eirisse was relieved when Xenon's consciousness returned. His sensors aren't working but he can still talk, “Please... help Sheria realize she's not alone... the sole reason why she didn't kill Alice was that she thinks they're the same...” He held another breath. A mechanoid may have a day to live without his source of power, but he was weakened as the core installed within him was the half he shared with Eirisse. Without the Arcanum Core that constitutes his entire being, he would become a lump of alloys that no longer think nor feel. “Don't talk now! I shall bring back your heart!” Eirisse was trying her best to not cry, and she stayed to be stubborn as ever whenever she was under the influence of her Metamorphosis. “I must tell you that... my core together with the Magic Transporter was...” before Xenon could even finish his statement, the splattered blood is what welcomed his presence. Eirisse was just there when Sheria's arm pierced open her chest, and right after pulling the beating heart that Xenon gave to her. She smiled the most wicked way. Xenon witnessed right before his eyes as Eirisse drops unconscious on the floor. It was too fast that even Laken couldn't react. The lunatic's laugh was once again could be heard. Xenon was forced to behold the sight of Eirisse have stolen something precious to her. Laken swings his burning blade, but Sheria's reflexes were great she dodges left and right. She flew up to the sky with the wings of the guilty. “I have the Omega Core now! Why did you give the half to a vampire? And made the third into a carriage? How shallow can you be, Xenon?” Sheria mocked him right after stealing something connected to him. Eirisse was in too much shock when she lost her only heart that causes her to be insensible. Laken would want to fight Sheria but she's in airborne. Luciella was once again caught herself in a powerless situation. What Xenon wanted to tell them was that his Arcanum Core is also unique. The Zargon Republic made the Zero Core in which is meant to be the strongest that can surpass anything in the world. However, things don't always turn the way they wanted it to be. The holder of Zero Core who was Sheria Hexiria is unstable, her emotions can't be controlled by the higher-ups of Zargon. She always had the desire to be above them, which they never installed such feelings in her. It turns out her entire being was wrong and she is well aware of it. That's why she asked her creator to be put under eternal slumber because she doesn't want to become a killing machine. Sheria's wish was granted and the higher-up placed her in a capsule pod as if she never existed in the first place. That was the time the Zargon realized there's no way they could attain perfect emotions because they are aware they are artificial intelligence who has a task to live in the world with freedom and pride. Learning from their past mistake, they created the perfect cores in which together, they shall bring harmony. One that resonates with the feeling of one's comrades, and the other to become stronger more than anyone, together they are unstoppable. The Alpha Core and Omega Core came into reality to bring the ultimate mechanoid defender. The heart of the strongest was installed on Zoroaster that later became the sixth Heavenly Hero who purges the evildoers. The heart of the righteous and kind was placed on Xenon's chest. He still remembers the voice of the one that gave him the name 'Genesis', the name in which he cherished along with the words of the woman who bestowed her meaning. The voice he always remembers in his empty dreams is what made him wanted to feel what does having a comrade like. Xenon always seeks the one who gave him the noble purpose of protecting his comrade in which the cost was the wish of the lost. When he left his duty of protecting Zargon's peace, the balance was toppled off and the Alpha Core became unstable. In order for them to make amends, they awaken the holder of the Zero Core, Sheria, and made her connect with Zoroaster. The glorious Heavenly Hero finally became stable once again, but the price of pain still lingers in Sheria's mind. Darkness always finds fault at the weak, thus corrupting Sheria's to the core up to her soul, becoming the rouge mechanoid she became. The worst part is that no one knows what she became, because no one was able to understand her anguish. But there is one who can, the only mechanoid who can understand her is the only one she gave a name. Xenon Genesis takes up a stand, he held his weapon and gently knelt down wiping Eirisse's tears in her slumber. The darkness slowly corroded his mechanical armor, pervading his entire being into the demon he once forgot. “I shall...” Xenon takes a single step. Laken pulled Luciella and hid her behind to be safe. The Stargazer Xenon had slowly dissolved into a thin mist and gradually enveloping his entire body just like how the darkness never leaves a mark of his true self. “We need to get out of here!” Laken carried Luciella on his back and jumped off from the window of the room. “At last! Together with the Shard of Energy and the cores, I shall become a perfect being that transcends above all else!” Sheria swallowed Xenon and Zoroaster's core thinking she will become powerful. However, Laken knows more than anyone that amongst the cursed ones, there is but one person who can't be controlled by anyone, not the Heavenly Heroes themselves. His curse was probably the most drastic and unstable when his good-hearted personality is reversed becoming so twisted that he can no longer hear the voice of life. Xenon may forgive Sheria for stealing the other half of his self, but he will never forgive her for taking away the most precious treasure Eirisse had accepted. He took Eirisse as he takes flight with his tainted mechanical wings. The scene where a noble knight carries her princess away where no one will despise them has been reanimated. When he was at the altitude level where Sheria has reached, he opened his mouth to say his message. “Stop that Xenon! You promised her!” Laken exclaimed at the top of his lungs but it was already too late. “Accelerating Combustion Buster: Revenant Mode!” Xenon's voice resonated throughout the horizon. The pure shadow of the night takes over. He was totally engulfed by his overwhelming emotion of seeing Eirisse suffers further. Alice arrived at the picture where Laken was kneeling in hatred to himself, “I failed again... the Voiceless Revenant is born once more,” he struck his sword in the ground. However, he still never gives up as he stands up once more. The night where Xenon was cursed, the night where he takes the countless life with just a single sound wave. Laken picks up his sword again. He will never let that fiendish evening where Xenon became a genocider be repeated no matter what it takes. Not for the sake of the celestials, but for the sake of everyone else.
