Chapter Eighteen Sage I got into the house at nine-thirty. Traffic had been thick as molasses most of the trip, taking longer than it had taken us to get down to Brownsville. Emotionally and physically, I was exhausted. “To bed, River.” He slumped as he walked into the house. “Granny must be asleep already.” “I’m sure she is, so be quiet. Just go to bed.
