Arabella’s side throbbed painfully as she leaned against the alley wall , her breaths coming in shallow gasps . The encounter with Cassius has taken a toll on her , the bloody gashes on her flank a stark reminder of their brutal confrontation, yet , she will remain unbroken , her mind replaying the cryptic message from the silver wolf .

What did you mean ? She whispered into the night half hoping the phantom beast would make its appearance once more.

As she staggered toward the mouth of the alley , a low growl echoed behind her . She spun around her heart pounding in her chest . Expecting another attack . Instead, she was met with a pair of familiar silver eyes - Gideon .

Reluctantly Arabella “she allowed Gideon to lead her away from the alley .towards a derelict warehouse on the edge of the city she vaguely remembered it being a hideout for the pack , a place where they could escape from paying human eyes .
