As we stepped inside, Drinn held her hand over her eyes and tried to look around. “I think it’s brighter in here than it was outside.” “It’s the mirrors,” Otsoa said. He was squinting up at the dome. I looked up as well and saw that it wasn’t solid metal but a mesh open to the sky, made of a thousand tiny mirrors placed at every possible angle. So long as the sun was up, there would be sunlight inside the temple, and I wondered if it reflected enough starlight at night to keep it bright without candles or lamps. I squinted around the main hall, which took up most of the dome. There was only a small section walled off in the back to create offices for the attendants of the temple.
