The guardians were seldom seen, only on special occasions. Camilla was taken aback by their presence. The guards prevented them from entering the king's wing and did not respond to her demand to step aside. Camilla angrily declared, "I am the king's mother and I should be allowed to enter!" Angelita attempted to push past the guards, but her father stopped her. "I am your queen, how dare you!" she shouted. Her father informed her, "Angelita, you have been disqualified."
