Raj’s grand mansion was completely silent. He sat back in his plush leather chair, the dim, warm glow of the desk lamp casting shadows across his face. In his hand, he held a simple, slightly worn-out diary—the very same diary that had slipped from Raunak’s bag during their collision at school earlier that day.
Initially, he had opened it purely out of amusement, expecting to find boring school notes, teenage doodles, or childish crushes. But as his fingers flipped through the pages, the smirk vanished from his lips, replaced by a look of genuine intrigue.
That diary was an unfiltered window straight into Raunak’s soul. Written in her neat, elegant handwriting, every page revealed a piece of her true self—the exact flowers she loved, her deep, secret fear of thunderstorms, the way she adored the earthy scent of the first rain, and her quiet, modest dreams of someday becoming a writer. He read about how deeply she cherished her joint family, how she found joy in the smallest of things, and the quiet struggles she faced every day.
Raj, a boy who possessed all the wealth in the world but constantly battled an inner emptiness, suddenly found himself utterly captivated. He had crossed paths with countless girls, but none of them possessed such raw, honest sincerity. Raunak’s world was a stark contrast to his own—devoid of superficial show-off, rich instead in genuine emotions and soulful bonds.
A slow, thoughtful smile crept onto his face. The mocking arrogance was entirely gone, replaced by a strange sense of protectiveness and a sudden, burning curiosity to know her even better. He realized that this "simple middle-class girl" was far more complex and captivating than he had ever imagined.
As the night deepened, Raj kept turning the pages, losing himself in her written secrets. He was no longer just the arrogant rich boy holding a stranger's property; he was a young man slowly getting drawn into a world he had never known.
Meanwhile, back at her home, Raunak was losing her mind. Sitting anxiously in her room, she repeatedly searched through her school bag, her desk drawers, and every corner of her study table. She couldn't for the life of her remember where she had dropped her diary!
That diary wasn't just a collection of papers; it held her most private thoughts—her unspoken feelings, her deepest fears, and her biggest dreams, which she had never shared with a living soul.
"Where on earth did I keep it?" she muttered to herself, running her fingers frantically through her hair, sheer panic gripping her chest. Vaguely, she recalled something slipping away when she crashed into Raj in the school corridor. But could her diary really have fallen into the hands of that arrogant billionaire's son?
The mere thought made her heart hammer against her ribs. If Raj had actually read it, what would he think of her? The crushing weight of that fear threatened to suffocate her.
The next morning, the sun had barely climbed into the sky when the hustle and bustle began outside the school gates. Raunak was pedaling her old bicycle toward the school, her eyes heavy with fatigue from a sleepless night spent agonizing over the lost diary.
Suddenly, a loud, roaring sound pierced the air. A heavy, high-end sports bike screeched around the corner, coming to an abrupt halt right in front of her bicycle. The brakes were slammed so suddenly that Raunak barely managed to keep her balance, her heart leaping into her throat.
When she looked up, trembling with a mix of fear and sheer rage, she saw none other than Raj sitting astride the bike. He wore dark sunglasses, and that familiar, taunting smirk played on his lips.
Raunak’s temper, already simmering from a night of panic, finally boiled over. Gripping her bicycle handles tightly, she glared straight at him and snapped furiously, "Hey, Mister! Are those sunglasses hiding your eyes or stone walls? Can't you see a cycle coming? Are you blind, or do you just love showing off your cheap heroics everywhere?"
Raj calmly switched off the bike's engine, slid his sunglasses down the bridge of his nose, and replied in a cool, unbothered tone, "The fault was entirely yours, Raunak madam. Your mind is always wandering somewhere else, which is why collisions happen."
"Wandering? What nonsense are you talking about?" Raunak’s face flushed a deep shade of crimson. "And I've been noticing your cheap stunts since yesterday! Laughing for no reason in class, blocking my way now... exactly what do you want?"
Raj smoothly hopped off his bike. He stepped closer, invading her personal space, locked his intense gaze onto hers, and whispered with a dangerous, teasing smile, "What I want... time will tell, Raunak. But for now, try to keep your diary safe. It’s not every time you'll get everything back safely."
Without waiting for a reply, Raj kicked his bike back to life and sped off, followed closely by his gang of laughing friends.
Raunak stood frozen beside her bicycle, her breath hitching. So Raj really did have her diary! He had as good as confessed it. Her anxiety skyrocketed to a whole new level.
Later that afternoon, during the lunch break, Raunak was sitting at her desk, lost in a miserable haze. Suddenly, a commotion at the classroom door made everyone look up.
Raj strode in with his usual arrogant swagger, accompanied by his loyal cronies. Every eye in the room turned toward him, but his gaze locked exclusively onto Raunak. He walked straight up to her desk and came to a halt.
With a trembling heart, Raunak looked up. Raj’s face wore a wicked, highly confident grin. Slowly, he pulled out a familiar pink diary from his jacket pocket—her personal diary—and placed it down right in the center of her desk with a sharp, deliberate thud.
Raunak felt the blood drain entirely from her face. She stared at the diary with trembling hands, then glared up at Raj, a mixture of rage and terror choking her words.
Leaning forward slightly, Raj brought his face closer and whispered in a low, teasing voice, "Keep your secrets a bit more securely, Raunak madam... otherwise, if someone else reads them, you might be in serious trouble."
With that parting shot, Raj flashed a devastating smirk and walked out of the classroom, his friends trailing behind him with suppressed laughter.
Raunak slumped back into her chair, utterly paralyzed. Her head spun uncontrollably. Only one terrifying thought echoed in her mind: He read it... oh God, he actually read every single word I wrote!
Her peaceful days were officially over. The arrogant heir now held every single secret of her heart, and she had no idea what storm was going to hit her next.
