Miranda's POV: I had a dream. Cole and I soaking up the spilled bottle of amnesia with our clothes, the heady perfume clogging our nose and heads. We burst out laughing, having fun yet dreading Mom's reaction at the same time. A loud beep sound shattered the peaceful dream. My body shuddered as my eyes snapped open. Slowly everything started to register in my head. The dryness of my mouth, the smell on the air, the dull ache all over my upper body, the raging fever in my bones. The beeping continued. One every two seconds. It took a while for it to register. A heart monitor. What happened last? I tried to force myself to remember it and a headache exploded in my forehead.
