CHAPTER 2: Little One, Stay Tonight

735 Words
In front of the red-light, I turned and looked at Jiejie again. Her beauty is both timeless and unique, with a face that balances symmetry and individuality. Her eyes are one of her most captivating features—large, expressive, and framed by long, dark lashes. They might be a piercing blue, a warm brown, or a mesmerizing green, capable of conveying a wide range of emotions with just a glance. Her skin is radiant, with a flawless complexion that seems to glow under any lighting. High cheekbones and a well-defined jawline add structure to her face, while her lips are full and naturally inviting, often accentuated with a subtle shade of lipstick. Her smile is dazzling, lighting up her entire face and exuding warmth and confidence. Her hair is another standout feature—thick, lustrous, and styled in a way that complements her overall look. It might be cascading waves of golden blonde, sleek and straight in jet black, or a rich auburn that catches the light perfectly. Her physique is elegant and toned, reflecting a dedication to health and fitness. I can imagine she carries herself with grace and poise when she is working. Her fashion sense is impeccable, often seen in outfits that highlight her natural beauty while making a bold statement. Beyond her physical appearance, her voice is soft and soothing. I have no idea when it happened—I suddenly found myself so adept at describing a person, as if each detail of their face and mannerisms sparked a story all its own. “If you weren’t walking the red carpet or performing on screen as an actress, what a shame it would be for the world to lose such brilliance.” I looked into her eyes and told her. She listened, then let out a soft, knowing laugh. Jiejie lived in a hotel-style apartment whose lobby exuded a grandeur reminiscent of luxury apartment buildings—something on par with the Tomson Riviera. I found myself debating whether I should simply drop her off at the lobby or accompany her all the way to her door. Then, as if reading my mind, Jiejie said with a gentle smile, "Park the car in the underground garage—I have an empty spot there." Once I had safely left her at her doorstep, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I pulled out my phone and sent a quick message to my senior, letting her know Jiejie was home safe. Just as I was about to put my phone away, I noticed a message from my senior that had arrived earlier. My fingers hovered over the screen, my pulse skipping unexpectedly. "By the way, did I mention? This lovely lady is a Hong Kong movie star." For a moment, I just stared at the words, the weight of that simple sentence settling in. A Hong Kong star. "Jiejie, get some good rest. I'll head back now." I tried to keep my voice light, casual, as if my heart wasn’t still racing from the message I had just read. She turned slightly, her gaze lingering on me for a moment, eyes carrying a warmth that made the grand hotel lobby feel almost intimate. “Mm,” she hummed softly, the corners of her lips curving into a faint smile. “Drive safe.” The elevator doors slid shut between us, and I was left standing there, the quiet hum of the corridor pressing in around me. I took the elevator to the lobby. I glanced up instinctively toward the elevator where Jiejie had disappeared moments ago, the soft chime of the closing doors still echoing in my ears. The woman I had just driven home, whose laughter had lingered in the air like the last notes of a song—she wasn’t just breathtaking; she was someone the world already adored. And yet, tonight, she had sat beside me in the quiet hum of the car, talking like any ordinary person, as if fame had never touched her. I swallowed, suddenly feeling like I had stepped into a story I wasn’t quite prepared for. The thought still hadn’t quite settled. I exhaled slowly, running a hand through my hair before finally turning on my heels, stepping back into the cool night. "Little babe, why don’t you stay over at my place tonight? It’s late, and I’d worry if you went back alone."
