Vivian spoke up indignantly, "Kira, are you seriously going to sacrifice the interests of Thornwood Pack just for your own benefit? This pack was built by Damon and his dedicated members. It's not your private resource!"
With that carefully crafted statement, Vivian positioned herself on moral high ground, making me appear selfish and self-centered in front of all these witnesses.
Even though most of Thornwood Pack's senior members knew I'd worked tirelessly for years helping the pack enterprise succeed, when it came to protecting their own interests, they stayed silent.
I watched Margaret and Vivian perform their accusatory routine with ice-cold detachment, while Damon sat there like a statue.
