I truly couldn't understand how he could say such things with a straight face. His shamelessness was beyond what I had ever imagined.
"If you care about Serena so much, why didn't you file for dissolution when she came back to the kingdom?" I asked,
Damon faltered. "What?"
"If you'd chosen dissolution back then and told me you loved her, I wouldn't have stood in your way," I said. "If you'd done that, Serena's reputation wouldn't be on the line now."
His face twisted with irritation. "I'm not dissolving our bond. I made a vow when we mated, and I've never forgotten it. Kira, I promised I'd never betray you."
