Kira's POV
The chamber was pitch-black, but the distressed sounds grew clearer as I entered.
I followed the noise and made my way to the bedside. My enhanced wolf vision allowed me to see clearly even without light, Callum was lying in bed, his eyes shut tight, clearly trapped in a nightmare.
Broken words kept spilling from his mouth, his wolf clearly in distress beneath the surface.
I stepped forward and called out quietly, "Callum..."
However, he didn't wake. Instead, he kept mumbling in a slurred voice, "It hurts... Stop... I'll behave. I'll do as you say..."
I was absolutely stunned, my wolf going rigid with shock.
Never had I expected those words to come from Callum Green's mouth, even while he was unconscious and vulnerable.
