I told my dad I was going for a stroll, instead of going to our café. I wasn't sure how he was going to react if I told him where exactly I was going.
He may have objected, and I wasn't ready to deal with the thought of disobeying him by taking his objections lightly.
That was a harmless lie, wasn't it?
Or was it even a lie at all? I did stroll at some point before I ordered an Uber, actually.
So to be clear, technically, I didn't lie.
I only didn't tell him I was going to the café, alongside me strolling around in the neighbourhood.
What if I had gone to visit Tori?
Would that also be considered a lie? I don't think so!
Then why am I feeling guilty for not telling him before leaving?
Why do I feel like I have betrayed him?
