Once the band settles into its set, I plop back down in my seat and watch Ross gyrate to the music. The sound is a thousand times louder than the CD in my car stereo, but not any better. I recognize the songs off the new album only because I’ve already heard them so damn often, thanks to Ross. The lights are out, but lasers play across the stage and spotlights illuminate the jumbo screens surrounding the band. Nothing I haven’t seen on YouTube before. I feel like I’m trapped in a video.
