  The boardroom had finally begun to empty. The gruelling four hours of deliberation between the executive members of the board had finally come to an end with a decision reached by the general consensus. Soft murmurs of conversation echoed against the glossy wood-paneled walls as members of the executive team filtered out, leaving behind a number of half drunk bottles of water, scattered whispers and the lingering tension that always followed a high-stakes meeting.   Sarah stayed behind to tidy up some of the work on her table. Her eyes were fixed on the screen of her tablet, but in reality—she wasn't reading. Her posture was composed, her spine straight, hands folded neatly over the device. But her thoughts were anything but calm. It was a running amok—a chaotic mess of tangled emotion
