Man Down
RICHARD'S ARMY GATHERS before the Clergy in the town square of Acre. King Richard is brought out before his men. The Clergy makes an announcement.
“For the crime of sinning, we sentence Richard the Lion Heart to ten lashes,”
Richard is put on his knees, his shirt is stripped off, the lash is brought out. Richard begins to serve his penance.
“I am not worthy of God's love,”
Richard is given his first lash. A large red gash tears across his back.
“I am not worthy...”
Richard is given his second lash. The blood splashes into the sand swallowed by it.
“...to serve...”
Richard is given his third lash. There is blood, the sound of wet meat.
“...the living God,”
Richard is given his fourth lash. Robin and his men are watching their king lashed before them. Robin feels inspired
