"Dinner. A work meeting."
That was what he had called it. But she wasn’t naive. Men like Alexander didn’t waste time on unnecessary meetings.

Her phone buzzed.
Alexander Knight: The car will be outside in five minutes. Don’t be late.

The moment Sophia stepped inside the luxurious Michelin-starred restaurant, she realized exactly what kind of world Alexander lived in. Elegant chandeliers, waiters in crisp uniforms, and an atmosphere dripping with exclusivity.
He was already waiting for her at a secluded table, his presence impossible to ignore. The other guests—business moguls and celebrities—watched him with both respect and fear.
She swallowed hard and walked over.
"You’re late," he said smoothly as she sat across from him.
Sophia arched a brow. "By thirty seconds."
A flicker of amusement passed through his eyes. "Still late."
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as a waiter appeared with a bottle of wine—already selected, already poured.
Control. Everything about Alexander screamed control.
"Why are we really here?" she asked, folding her hands on the table.
Alexander swirled his wine before speaking. "You’re my assistant, Sophia. That means I need to know you."
She kept her expression neutral. "Professionally."
His lips curved slightly. "Of course."
But there was something else in his gaze—curiosity, challenge.
Sophia was used to handling powerful men. But Alexander Knight? He was on an entirely different level.
