The next morning, Robina raced with a sense of anticipation because she will be embarking on a journey with Makeal. She seems happy for some reason but sad because of where she is heading.
“I wish it would be another place and not Sliver Fur Pack”. She said in what seemed like a whisper as she was talking to herself.
She had given her trusted babysitter the day off because she wouldn't be returning home anytime soon anyways.
As she prepared her infant son for the day, Robina hummed a soothing lullaby for her baby, her fingers tenderly buttoning his tiny shirt.
After a hearty breakfast of oatmeal and fresh fruits Robina played on the living room floor with little Kelvin, giggles feeling the cozy space.
Just as she was about to suggest picking a few clothings a faint honk from the street below caught her attention.
Peering out of the window, Robina's eyes widened in shock at the sight that greeted her, exotic sleek cars lined the curb, their shiny slick exterior glinting in the morning light.
Before she could make sense of the unusual scene, a firm knock came from the front door.
Clutching little Kelvin close to her, Robina hurried down the creaking stairs, her heart racing; when she pulled open the door she met with the unexpected sight of Makael, his appearance impeccable and refined.
She expected him to come pick her up but not this time at least, although she had gotten ready herself since morning.
“Makael..Ma.. Makael.” Robina stammered, her mouth agape.
”What is going on?”
Makael raises the hand silencing her Robina.
“There is no time to explain, you must trust me. His voice held a weighted urgency that sent shivers down her spine.”
Confusion and surprise dance in her eyes.
Without another word Makael gently took the baby from her arms.
“Are you ready we are about to leave for the SilverFurs Pack, remember I'm the Alpha son. I'm actually very wealthy but you know I'm being low-key."
He said flashing her one of his best smiles.
“Just a moment.” She said and rushed in, coming out with the little bag she packed, she picked some clothes she’d use there and for her son too.
He ushered her towards the waiting cars. Robina's mind spun with a whirlwind of questions. She stared at the determined set of Makael's jaws which told her that now was not the time.
“How will I discuss all these to Makeal or how will I lay everything down to him”. She said in her thoughts
As they slid into the plush leather seat the engines roared to life and they surged forward leaving Robina's familiar neighborhood behind.
She was leaving moonvale spark back to SilverFurs pack where she knew she was going to see him again.
Her heart hammered and she tried to appear as calm as possible.
The cityscape of Moonvale Pack gave way to the road leading to SilverFurs pack.
“Makael .” She breathed, her eyes drinking in the landscape rushing past them in a blur.
“I'm quite sure that you'll be so happy to see your brother after so many years. She said not wanting to tell him that his brother was her mate who had her rejected and chose her best friend over her and took her position from her.
She wondered how he would feel if she told him all this deep down in her mind she knew he was falling for her but she didn't want to rush it.
Telling him now might make him order the driver to turn the car round back to Moonvale park.
The ride was a long and stressful one she was grateful as the car slowed to a stop .
she found herself in an awe of sprawling grounds that stretched before her to wearing pines and meadow.
A lot had changed since she left and she hadn't bothered to care how the Pack her father had left under her care was.
Under her care?
What was she even saying ? It was now under Ian's care.
She wondered how Pack was fairing under his rulership.
She shook her head at the thought.
Makael took her out of the vehicle and Robina was immediately enveloped by a sea of strange but friendly and welcoming faces.
Oh wow, Ian had done a lot indeed, he had changed the long serving staff of the Park House.
Even her nanny was nowhere to be found, among the staff who stood outside waiting to welcome them was nobody that she could recognize.
“Welcome back to Silverfurs Pack Robina.” Makael said, his voice filled with pride.
“So much has changed.” she said in a whisper.
Her heart raced when she stepped through the gates of SilverFurs Pack.
A million questions danced in her mind, what if she sees Ian?
What if he sees the little boy with her? Would he be happy? Would he add 2 + 2 together and know that Kelvin was his son.
Will he also be happy that his lost twin brother was alive and not dead?
She still hadn't told Makael everything, she only told him she had a mate who rejected her.
How will she tell him that his brother was sitting in the position that was rightfully hers.
No, it is better she go back to Moonvale Pack.
The magnificence Park House was undeniable but there was an air of uneasiness that hung over the place.
She knew that the Pack was under terrible rulership.
The once familiar faces of the Pack staff who could have been happy to welcome her have been replaced with strangers and the energy felt heavy with an unspoken tension.
Robina and Makael were led by the senior maid, a short stout woman, through the bustling corridors.
The maid, a kind-eyed woman named Eliza, held Robina's baby in her arms cradling him with a tenderness that helped ease Robina's worries for the meantime.
“Don't worry dear.” Eliza whispered. One of the staff working in the pack house who came to welcome them. “We will help take care of your little one while you settle in.”
Robina smiled as Eliza showed them to The Chambers.
Robina offered a grateful smile watching as Eliza disappeared from the corridor with little Kelvin.
The chamber was a spacious room which was adorned with elegant furnishings and a breathtaking view of the surrounding forest.
The room had a sense of explicit and grandeur, she couldn't help but felt a sense of ease.
In this Pack House she had grown up, her father's beloved child and it was in this back house she had fallen in love and was rejected by her mate. She thought as she was taking everything in.
If only she had the chance, the power to do so, she was going to teach Ian a bitter lesson, make him cry and beg for her forgiveness but for now she was keeping her fingers crossed.
