The first hinge snapped. A second followed. The massive vault door groaned under the force of something far stronger than ordinary tools. Anthony instinctively stepped in front of Evelyn. "Stay behind me." The hologram of William Ashford flickered but did not disappear. His calm voice continued. "The greatest danger to Genesis was never the technology itself." "It was human ambition." A thunderous impact shook the chamber. The vault door buckled inward. Dust rained from the ceiling. Benjamin looked toward the entrance. "They're using a hydraulic ram." Richard Holloway smiled. "My people are very determined." Anthony met his gaze. "So are we." The emergency barriers suddenly shifted again. Steel panels rose from the floor, creating narrow passageways through the chamber.
