The blue light on the flash drive flashed faster. Beep. Beep. Beep. Everyone dropped to the floor. Anthony pulled Evelyn behind the heavy oak table. Mercer reached into his jacket and removed a small electronic scanner. He held it near the flash drive. The device emitted a shrill tone. Anthony looked at him. "Is it a bomb?" Mercer shook his head. "No." His expression was no less troubled. "It's worse." Evelyn frowned. "Worse than a bomb?" Mercer switched off the scanner. "It's transmitting." Silence settled over the room.
