Mistakes And Strangers

Chapter Three Anya Pov My eyes snapped open slowly, adjusting to the sudden bright light all around me and I furrowed my brows, this wasn't my room at all. Where am I? I felt a strong migraine rush through my head and images instantly flooded my memory, my eyes widened in shock as I glanced around only to find a man laid beside me, naked and napping comfortably. This was the man who had saved me from Jason and Jasmine last night, tears clouded my eyes when I recalled how my friend had betrayed me for a measly amount of money that I had already gotten for her through weeks and months of hard work. I balled my fists in anger, there was nothing that would make me ever forgive her for betraying me. If it came to me, I swore I would never do that to her. Yes, her mother needed surgery but what she did was worse than her mother dying and I had already given her my word that I wouldn't let that happen. But it was so easy for her to just give me up after everything we've been through together. The man stirred and my eyes widened as I quickly darted off the bed and grabbed my clothes to wear and get out of this mysterious place before the gorgeous napping man woke up. My cheeks reddened furiously as I recalled how shameless I had been the previous night with him, s**t! I quickly pulled my hair into a ponytail and began to leave. The hallway seemed endless as I went through it but soon, I came across a set of stairs and quickly rushed down in a bid to escape. But stopped short at the man standing right there in the living room screaming into his phone. “Listen to me, Abigail. You can either get the situation under control or drop your resignation letter in my email!” He yelled, his face twisted into a beautiful rage that made my panties pool with arousal. Wait a minute, wasn't this none other than my useless husband to be? What was he doing here? And he seemed like an angry hen trying to gather her naughty chicks. “I don't care how you do it, I provide resources to every last one of you so you can get what I need done. So don't give me that bullshit!” He yelled again, running a hand through his hair and messing it up as he tried to calm himself down and I just stared at him, dumbfounded by his rage. How could anyone look so angry and hot at the same time? But this was not how I remembered him, four years ago he was the worst of the worst. An ugly duckling who leered at anything in skirts. Not this… man. “Alright. Listen to me, that particular shipment holds much more than what any other has ever held before. It's carrying my future wife's diamond ring for f**k sake!” He growled the last part out and my breath shuddered. Ahh, so he was taken alr- oh wait, was he talking about me? No, no, no, that was impossible. He couldn't be into the marriage anymore than I was, I had always bullied him ever since we were kids. That was one of the reasons why I didn't want to marry him and the other big reason was, he was a huge failure. I couldn't afford for him to catch a sight of me here, dishevelled and looking so utterly f****d and used. Slowly, I turned to tiptoe out of the building but voices stopped me in my tracks. “Where do you think you're going, doll?” “Anya?” That was it, I was officially done. Why had both of them seen me before my mission was completed? Quickly, I tried to flee but the open door just meters away from me slammed close on its own and locked up. Automatic doors. s**t! s**t! s**t!!! I gently turned around with a small wave and stopped short at the scenery in front of me. The two gorgeous men stared back at me with two different emotions on their faces. One with pure shock and a hint of desire and question brimming in his eyes and the other, the other stared at me with pure amusement and a burning desire in his eyes that made me almost stagger. “Hello” I greeted dumbly and internally chided myself, was that the only thing my lips could say in such a situation? Anya, get your s**t together!. “Where are you rushing off to, doll? We aren't done yet, you still have to take responsibility for what you did to me last night.” The man standing at the bottom of the stairs walked down, taking slow strides towards me and I gave off an awkward laugh. “I don't know what you're talking about” I tried, taking small steps backwards and had a snort from his dangerously beautiful lips. Images once again flashed in my head and I flushed pink. “Oh, responsibility huh? You f****d my fiance!” Cade growled out at the man who I still had no idea who he was and he simply smirked. “She felt so damn tight, like the second time she's ever been fucked.” He whispered the words like they were supposed to be a prayer and again, I flushed red before speaking. “It's none of your business, Cade. And this thing that happened between us… stays that way. And as much as I appreciate what you did for me, you stay away from me!” I turned around and stepped up to the door. “Open the door,” I said and he laughed loudly, the sound full of amusement instead of the anger I thought it would have after I went off on him. “Now, why would I do such a thing?” He asked and I slowly turned around to face them again, finding Cade's face full of rage. “This is my fiance you're talking to, Raphael. Keep your hands to yourself or we will have a problem.” Cade growled out and my eyes widened with shock as I staggered backwards, my back hitting the door behind me as I took in the man again in a new light. “R-Raphael?” I stuttered out and he grinned at me. “Before you get any ideas, I intend to fight for this beautiful woman. And besides, do not forget you're standing in my mansion.” He said to Cade who laughed, but his sound was hollow and sent chills down my spine. “Alright, Raphael. Maybe you could do that after the wedding today because I have every intention of wedding her today. She belongs to me!” He snapped at Raphael and he smirked. “Likewise.” He mumbled, this wasn't looking good at all for me. Raphael Knight, one of the city's best bachelors, owned the Knights Holdings. His reach was everywhere and people trembled at the sound of his name. Even parents needed to mention his name to put their kids to sleep if needed. And I had f****d him! Anya, Anya, why is bad luck following you everywhere?! I have to leave, but he already knew who I was and leaving wouldn't help at all. Although I still had to try. “I don't know what game it is you're playing here, but I am not buying it at all. Leave my woman alone!” Cade stepped up to him and they faced off, much to my fear. “We're not friends, Cade. And this wouldn't be the first time we've disagreed on things. Now, I would really love to see that marriage through today.” His voice dropped lower and lower and rage flashed in Cade’s eyes before he smiled. “Oh it would. Come here, Anya.” Cade waved me towards him and I shook my head, much to Raphael's amusement. “Come here, doll.” He tried but I also shook my head. I wasn't going to any of them– they were both crazy and I wouldn't want to be caught in their midst. Turning around, I began to pull at the door’s handle again, trying to unlock it and surprisingly, it snapped open and I rejoiced deep within me before I fled the living room. But as soon as I stepped out, I discovered that I had none of my stuff with me. f**k, they had fallen out back at that alley last night. I seriously doubted that Raphael had picked them up last night when he brought me here. Why was this happening to me today? My eyes watered as I forced myself to start walking down the lane out of the massive estate. That was when two cars pulled up beside me, one a Porsche and the other a BMW. The tinted glasses rolled down and I sighed as the two men inside were made known to me. Of course it was Raphael and Cade. “Get in, Doll.” Raphael called out and ordered and my body almost obeyed but I shook it off at the last moment. Shit, my submissive sides were acting up. I had to douse it down and bury it deep before it embarrassed me again. “Don't listen to him, I still have to take you back for the fittings for the evening.” Cade said and I felt my face flame up but then I spotted a live saver rolling down the road and almost cried out in joy. “Taxi!!!!!” I screamed at the tops of my lungs and the taxi driver slammed on his brakes hard, causing the tires of his car to screech loudly. “Oh, oh. You scared me there!” The man exclaimed as he clutched his chest and I forced on a smile while taking small glances at the duo seething behind me. “Can you take me to Dane’s Estate?” I asked and he took one look at the duo behind me before nodding with a grin. “You've got a handful right there,” he commented as he waved me in and I groaned. “Tell me about it.” A scream left my lips when I heard four shots go off simultaneously and I quickly stepped back from the taxi only to watch the four tires of the car go flat with holes in them. I slowly turned around– Raphael and Cade stood outside their cars holding black guns and my eyes widened in shock as the man rushed out from his taxi with a pale face and before I could speak or apologize, he ran down the street screaming his head off. “Your c-car!” I tried but received a scream in response. Oh dear.
