I never believed in love at first sight even though I am a big fan of romantic stories. I believed those things only happen in romantic stories. In my own idea I believe it is very cliche until the new boy joined us this year.I have been in Grambell since I could remember. Since I turned into a teenager, I have gotten advances by many boys both seniors and some boys in my class to become their girlfriend but I refused all of them because. At some point I started wondering if I am normal
"Shalom sweetie, you are perfectly normal and you are just 16, when the right guy comes, you will feel the spark" my friend Rosie will always tell me this same line whenever I complain to her .l will roll my eyes, as if she is not sixteen as well...
Rosie has been my best friend since kindergarten, she knows everything about me and she doesn't keep any secret from me.
We are like sisters. She has a boyfriend who is already in the University.
On that notable day, Rosie was sick and didn't come to school. We normally share the same seat in every classes since we don't keep other friends. The last time we tried to get involved with one of the popular girls in school, it didn't work out well because we later find out she is only trying to get information from us to use against Rosie. So after the incidence, it's always just two of us. So whenever one of us didn't come to school the other will feel lonely for the whole day...
That's the situation I was in when the new boy came in to our class.
"How may I help you dear" our agricultural science teacher said.
I looked up to behold the most angelic creature that I have ever seen.
I have not not seen such humanly beauty before. He is tall, fair and he has an athletic body..
And I no he is a footballer by just looking at him.
My seat is the only seat that is still vacant .So he sat beside me and the class continued. Ironically, the class didn't continue for me because I kept on staring at him pm
out the whole day and the worst part was that he barely noticed me. And that was first in history because almost all the guys in my grade has shown interest to date me but I turned them down. So I wondered why he won't even acknowledge my presence even as a seatmate.
But I am still excited that I have seen someone that I am attracted to. Even if he's not interested, at least I know now that I am normal. I can't wait to go home to my friend and announce that I have seen my 'Prince Charming' .
I know that Rosie's reaction will be priceless.
So after school that day I went home with a warm heart, feeling like a teenager in love.
I have a younger brother of 8 years, he is attending primary at Grambell child care school, same school as myself. He is taken care of by our nanny. My parents are both doctors, so, they are not always around. They have their own private hospital .So it means more workload for them. My younger brother and I are not complaining because his nanny is a God fearing woman and she takes good care of my brother. Rosie is always there for me too.
" Nana big sis is back from school" my brother said as ran to hug me.
After a little chat with my brother, I took my lunch, take a nap along with my kid bro.
When we woke up I told him to go and ask nanny to dress him up that we are going to Rosie's place.
"yeeeeeee" he shouted an ran out
Rosie has a younger sister who is in the same class as my Dave my kid bro, Dave liked going to their house because of her.
I dressed up as well and when my younger brother came out, we left for Rosie's house.
"Hi girlfriend how are you feeling now" I asked Rosie when we get to her house
"I am feeling better right now as you can see I think you have forgotten me" she replied. "Hey sweetie don't say that again, you know I can't trade you for anything. You know, right?" I said
I am just joking, I know dear
"Not even the hot guy". I said without comprehending what I have let out , then it clicks in my brain
"jeessss"I closed my mouth with my two hands. And she stood up from where she is sitting.
"Wait, wait, did I just hear my baby call a dude hot?"she shouted
"When did it happen, who is this guy, is he a new guy, girl don't tell me that you are now keeping secrets from me ."she said
"Babe calm down too many questions at a time. Yes, he is a new guy and he is damn hot like fire." we laughed
"So my baby is now sure that she is normal"she said and gave me a hug.
"Yes" I said and laughed
"And judging by your mood I knew that he asked you out already?" she asked
I laughed more. "That's the funny part dear. He didn't even look my way."
"But I am happy that he transferred to our school." I added
She bit her lower lip, "Don't worry girlfriend I have a plan in mind" she said
"What plans?" I asked .
she came closer and whispered, "we are going to the real Grambell queen tomorrow
I laughed at her idea. I can never dress to seduce and she knew it. She is just joking.
After sometime, we went to the kitchen and prepare food for ourselves and for the kids. After eating we said goodbye and I left with Dave
By now, I know Mom or Dad must be back from the hospital. I went straight to there room to greet whomever is on a shift for the day.
When I got there, mom is there already and about to rest.
"Good evening mom" I greeted
evening dear, Mrs Johnson (our nanny) said you went to Rosie's place, how is she? she asked
"She is fine Mom and how is our Daddy ?" I asked
"He's fine hon and he sent his greetings"
she said
ok mom .I left her room and headed to my room. I slept off immediately I changed my clothes to my pajamas
