Chapter Eighteen: New Girl

889 Words
Present “We’re here.” I opened my eyes when the car where I’m at stop. I wake myself up and look from the window only to see a big house from the outside the car. Holy s**t, where are we? The door opened and I saw Enzo, the driver, s***h the guard from the prison opened it for me. I look at him and he looks at me back, waiting for me to get out of here, in the car. All along the way from prison to here, he never slip any words from his mouth, except for his name that I asks, but every question, regarding to what is happening, or what is going on, and how did Hernando knew I am going to end up in a jail, and how do they know, I am going to end up in a jail, are all… Quiet answers. I hate him for that. “Thanks.” I just said when I get myself out of the car. He closes the door and drive away, I have no idea why, or where he is going. “What the hell is wrong with that man?” I whispered to myself while watching the car fade away from my sight. “He always acts like that, don’t worry. You’re gonna used to him soon.” I almost had a heart attacked when there is a woman voice speaks out behind me. I turned around and a girl in a pink green dress greet my eyes. She have a short hair, had a length till her neck. She have brown eyes and a smile that is same as Alicia. “Who are you?” I ask the girl and she just widely spreads her smiled. “Shannon. Shannon Forbes. I basically own this house, the house where you are going to stay in.” She answered that got me confused. “Yes thank you for your name, but, who are you?” She steps slowly towards me with still, a wide smile on her face, that I couldn’t figure out if it meant any emotions or not. I don’t know if she is sarcastic, happy, sad? Or just a smile without anything in it. “Is that what you are going to say after I just saved your life from being burnt alive on that prison? Because as far as I know, that is not how you treat a lady Lander. I had high hopes with the Martinez.” I don’t understand, what is going on? Who is this girl? And why did she save me from, being killed in that prison? How did she even know that I am going to die, or more likely, how did she knew about the fire and that I will be there. Because If I am not mistaken, she was the boss that the boys who saved my life there, are talking about. “How did you know my name? How did you know about the fire? I mean… Really, who are you? Not your name, but your intentions or what. Do I know you or something?” She take a deep breathe and she starts walking towards the door of the house that is standing in front of us. I have no choice, but to follow her, since she said I will be staying here, than I’ll stay. It’s only a few moments now before the authorities found out that I did not burned in that prison and start looking for me. I just got out of jail, and I don’t want to go back again there, because I know, that once I did go back there, I will never be coming out, means, the Madden wins. I am not happy to say this but… I think I’m thankful to be here. Even though I am actually have no idea where is here. “Hernando Madden is my grandfather, my mother is Luisa Madden and my father is Caleb Forbes. Alicia Katherine is my cousin, your wife. And Harry Madden, your father in law, is my uncle.” She stopped and opened the door and look at me. “I think that would answer the question of who am I.” She entered the house leaving me outside, standing here outside, processing what I just heard. I have no idea that Harry Madden had a sibling. Because 8 months of me living there with them, being a son in law to him, Luisa Madden was never mentioned in the picture of the Madden family. Even her, Shannon or Forbes. So I still am clueless on what is going on, and why did she save me, but most importantly, is how did she knew about fire. “My intentions, the answers to your questions about the fire and the prison and my family background, will all be the topic for tomorrow, after you get rested. You just just busted out from the prison, I think you deserved a little rest.” She said after coming back from the entrance to look at me, giving me a sign to’ come inside the house, no one in here is going to eat me’, look. I walked inside, and baby, this house is even bigger than the Madden. I am officially curious about this white ass girls’ backstory.
