TWO: First Birthday Party.

~ 5 years later ~

Sol's Pov

I just clocked ten ( 10 ) and my father told me that I was going to attend this massive nobles party at the king's palace. What appeared big to me wasn't that that I was getting a party while turning ten ( 10 ) but because i was going to be present at the king's mansion how cool is that. Apparently i wasn't the only one getting a party, it's a law in hortensia that any noble that turns ten ( 10 ) on that night must attend the party. Meaning not everyone is lucky enough to attend that party. But luck was so on my side my birthday date dropped immediately at the venue date. Leprechaun luck. I turned left, right, left, right and finally found August's room. He was the nicest big brother ever, although it was hard for me to believe that he was the oldest. I snuck around his room waiting to launch a sneak attack but my plan backfired. August caught me before I could even move an inch. " Sol, what are you doing there? Shouldn't you be getting prepared for the nobles party? ". August asked and I awkwardly stood up and walked to him. " Yes, but aren't you coming, big sis Reina is going to be present ". I told him what was on my mind. " Sorry I'm busy, ask whether Jude, Alex, or Amelia can go with you? ". August specified to me. " So you and Neriana can't be present ". I asked sadly. " I'm sorry we can't we also have a important party we have to attend as well ". August replied with the same sadness i had. I looked him in the eye and I knew he wasn't okay. " Big brother August, is something wrong? ". He didn't answer and he looked away avoiding eye contact with me. " August is getting engaged soon ". That same voice that was cold and terrifying answered me and I immediately recognized who it was. " Big sister Niriena ". i said. Hold on what did she mean by August was getting engaged? If i know my Siblings age properly then August should be Sixteen ( 16 ), Amelia is Fifteen ( 15 ),

Niriena is fourteen ( 14 ),

Jude is Thirteen ( 13 ),

Alex is Twelve ( 12 ),

And

Reina is Eleven ( 11 ).

Maybe I just realized it now but Mom is an amazing person giving birth to a baby every year. Standing there i watched as August's face turned pale and weak, i could that he really didn't want the engagement to happen. " Who is big brother August engaged too ". I asked curious as Neriana shook her head and decided to answer my question. " He's getting married to Hazel, the second daughter of the four main noble houses, Vespertine ". Niriena said bitterly and I could see her holding her urge not to cry. I knew that Niriena and August were close, So it wouldn't surprise me that Niriena would feel broken too. But to consider it I did hear that Hortensia doesn't share a very familiar bond with Vespertine even though they are the neighboring kingdom. Soon a question popped up in my head and I just said decided to ask August about it. " Well, why don't you marry her, is it because Hortensia and Vespertine don't have a common relationship? ". i stood there questioning August's decision. " Maybe she's a great person and you're just underestimating her ". August was taken aback by my words and he lent down thinking deep about it. And i didn't even think for a moment to stop. " How about inviting her to stay with us for a month, then you can decide whether you want to marry her or not ". i suggested happily. " It doesn't work like that ". August defended. " Huh ". i hummed cause i didn't get it. " When you're a high ranking noble you don't choose who you get to marry, your partner is chosen according to the status/ position you have in Hortensia. If you're lucky enough then you can be shipped with the person you want but if you're not so lucky there isn't a way to change it ". August said trying to hold back tears. What!!. i knew nobles had crazy rules but this goes way beyond craziness. Aren't you supposed to choose your partner yourself? "So dad can't do anything about it? ". I asked hoping to get a positive answer but I got the opposite. " He was the one that shipped me with Hazel ". " What?!! ". I screamed my lungs out surprised at what August said. " Isn't he supposed to consider your feelings? ". " You know dad, he doesn't give a dawn who you are he's social status is important to him ". August made him seem like as if he was a selfish father, but i knew my dad he wasn't selfish at all. If he did this then there must be a reason to it, so I decided to play along and ship them together as well. " Okay, then go to the engagement party, stay at her place for about a month use that time and spend time with her, when you return you can now tell me about your well-being there and how well you got with Hazel. Neriana you go with August too I'm sure he needs you for support ". I said to them seriously and they knew i wasn't kidding so they nodded and agreed with the plan. However I had my own nobles party to worry about, i grabbed the two ( 2 ) dress queen's of the family, Amelia and Reina and I told them to choose me an outfit since i don't really get this worlds taste. The searched for about an hour and finally found the perfect clothes for me. " Sol, this will look very beautiful on you ". Amelia said. " My handsome baby bro is turning ten ( 10 ) tomorrow I'm so proud ". Reina squealed like a fan girl. " Thanks. And oh i would also like to ask. Which one of my siblings was lucky enough to be thrown a party at the king's mansion? ". I asked hoping to get a good answer. " Well August and Niriena were lucky enough to be invited in there birthday's ". Amelia said smiling and then left the room and Reina followed in her. Tomorrow's my D- Day. I told myself as i squealed happily. Geez I was turning into Reina.

~ D Day~

My father ordered a royal carriage that would take us to the King's castle. I was so excited that i almost tripped on the stairs while climbing the carriage just then i heard Amelia call me, i walked over to her and she whispered something in my ears. " Tell Sylvia that I'm looking forward to it ". Amelia pulled back and started grinning like an i***t. I puffed and whined still not satisfied with her not able to go with us. " I can understand August and Niriena, but why don't you want to come with us? ". Amelia smiled and said " I'm only here so that those two ( 2 ) idiots don't do anything out of jealousy ". I guessed she was referring to Jude and Alex. I waved her bye and entered the carriage and whispered to myself ' I knew that they hated me but couldn't they at least wish me luck on my first birthday party? '. " What was that ". Reina asked maybe overhearing what I said. " Um, i said that I couldn't wait to go to my first birthday party ". I said as I heard my mum laugh and my dad looked back at me. " Sol make sure not to be a Rizz to all the females while you're there, Reina seems to be falling already ". My dad said and Reina flipped out denying it but my mum cut her whining. " Stop your Whining Reina we're almost there *. I looked so excited and it could be seen in my face. When we got down from the carriage I saw Sylvia in the most prettiest dress ever. I felt like I was falling for her. She wore a red, handless ball gown with nets on the side, her hair was packed in high buns and decorated with expensive hair bands, she wore a blue princess shoe and white gloves on both hands. She started at me sweetly and angry as i climbed down the carriage. " As expected from the princess of Hortensia, you look like a goddess tonight ". I said and I noticed Sylvia blush. " Sol, you i***t where have you been? ". She said furiously. Was that really the reason why she was angry. I burst into laughter and Sylvia became more angry. " Sol! ". Sylvia yelled. " Sorry, you just look so cute when you're mad ". Sylvia blushed again but this time I did too. what did i just say? " I see you're still a pretty Alluring, Sol. Must run in the family ". Then in front of me lied the head of this party the king himself. " King Hortensia, a pleasure to meet you again ". I said cheerfully. " How's it been it's been ages ". The king responded. " I've been doing fine thank you ". I responded politely. " Luke how have you been? ". I heard my father address the king with his real name but i couldn't fully listen to there discussion when Sylvia pulled me away. " Sylvia, what is it? ". " why were you late? ". Sylvia asked me. " Huh ". I hummed. " Princess's orders, tell me ". Sylvia forced me by using that princess's orders she always uses. " I and Amelia were discussing, oh which reminds me she said that i should send this message to you ". " What message ". Sylvia asked. ' She said that i should tell you that she is looking forward to it ' When Sylvia heard that she blushed. " What did she mean by that? " . I asked Sylvia but she kept on blushing. " Hey, Sol what are you doing here? The king is about to start the party. Let's go ". Reina interrupted our discussion and dragged me away like as if I was as light as sand paper.

~ Inside the Castles Hall's ~

The king gave a speech but a very boring one still everyone applauded him, i guess it was boring to me but interesting to them, i think it had to do with it been Sylvia's birthday but she didn't tell me and I didn't know despite me being her cousin. " Hey, Sol I'm going to my favorite Leisure spot. You coming? " . Sylvia asked. " I'll be there in a minute, it's time for my dad to give the toast and introduce me as the birthday boy. Also why didn't you tell me that we had our birthdays on the same day? ". I questioned Sylvia furiously and jealousy. " Hah, that's payback for being late, philanderer. Don't forget to meet me there after the toast ". I glared at her as she walked away and i couldn't help but glance at her a bit admiring how pretty she's turned out to be all these years, and now I just wanted to have the best birthday party.
