Chapter 14: The Hut at Night Alex The blade pressed cold and merciless against my throat. It was a sharp, thin line of metal that felt like ice on my skin. I knew that one single twitch, or even one wrong breath, would be enough for it to slice clean through me. I stayed perfectly still. I didn't even dare to look down at the sword.
