Chapter 52: Shadow Pack

I walked slowly through the long halls of the Shadow Pack castle. My footsteps made a steady sound against the stone floor. This stone was so dark that it looked like it was drinking all the light in the room. It was not like the bright, white marble of the Frostfall palace.
This place was nothing like I had expected it to be.
The walls were made from black granite. There were silver lines running through the stone like veins. I saw carvings of wolves everywhere. These wolves looked almost alive under the light of the torches. But the flames were not the normal gold or orange color I was used to seeing.
