The days that follow go by fast.
We research hotels, compare prices, plan routes, and finally buy the tickets. The idea was to travel as soon as possible, so the tickets ended up being more expensive. But with all four of our incomes, it wasn’t a problem. We’ll be leaving in two weeks.
We haven’t had any more attacks from the dark creatures so far. Still, Killian and Reed keep watch outside my house to protect me from any ambush. I wasn’t on board with the idea of them staying out all night just to guard me, so we made a compromise. One night Killian sleeps in my room while Reed stays outside, and the next night, they switch.
Tonight, Killian is in my room. I’m telling him about the box my biological mother left me.
