20 Turning her smile to Anwen, Harlow made sure to bypass Ryske. “How are you feeling?” “Sore,” Anwen said, wincing as she shifted position. “Do you need more pain pills?” Anwen shook her head. “We just took some,” she said, rubbing Ryske’s thigh with her toe. “They’ll kick in soon.” “That’s good,” Harlow said and nodded at the end table next to Ryske. “There’s food there. I got a bunch. I didn’t know what you’d like.” Ryske began opening food boxes to check what was in each one.
