Over the next few days, Harlow got a chance to re-learn how to be a free citizen. The adjustment wasn’t as easy as she’d thought it would be. That was after spending only three months locked up. How people returned to society unscathed after years in prison mystified her.
A week had gone by since Anwen’s desperate call to Harlow at the Sweeting house.
Bale was doing an excellent job taking care of the patient. Ryske stayed at his brother’s place every night. For security sake, there was usually at least one other guy with them. As yet, no one nefarious had shown up at Bale’s. Though that didn’t mean the threat was over.
