It was resting right above the state of the art car hoist that Rhea helped Neddy and Jim build. The car hoist was there to lift the car after Rhea and Aron were put inside.
That part was crucial since it would keep the car wheels off the ground as Benroy starts the engine, and then slowly increases the speed until it reaches the top speed of 209 kilometres per hour. Then the hoist would be flattened again to let the car back on the ground after Benroy returns to a safe distance away from it so that it could smash into the railings in that speed before crashing right into the col.
