Life at the hills was simple but routine. People worked for the whole week and enjoyed their leisurely time with their family at the weekend. On Sunday mornings, they assemble at the church. After the church service, most of them gathered at the Johnsons’ porch where the weekly gossips were exchanged.  The Johnsons were undoubtedly the most influential family of the village. Everyone tried to stay on good terms with them and as their paying guests, Rhea and Aron also enjoyed the privileges that came with being associated with the Johnsons.
