The seeking spellWhen Khu-ren arrived back at the Temple of the Sun he was alone. Among his colleagues, the enthusiasm of his welcome was muted by the knowledge that his daughter was in danger, but the ordinary people who lived in the valley of the Kennet river and on the hills that surrounded the great Temple at Haylken knew nothing of his anxiety. They came flocking along the ridgeway to greet him and surrounded him with singing and rejoicing, hundreds of them struggling to get close enough to touch him; others holding back, content just to catch a glimpse of him. He walked calmly through the throng, a tall, impressive man, giving strength by his very presence to the weak and wavering.
