The Hall of RecordsOne night Urak woke from a troubled dream to see a crowd gathered round her bed. She sat up angrily, thinking that Deva’s family and friends had finally located her and were come to take her back. But as she became more fully awake she noticed that there was a strange, eerie light in the cave, and the figures pressing so close to her were as insubstantial as smoke. She looked more closely and recognised one or two. There was the man whose whole family she had destroyed because he refused to allow his daughter to come to her on the mountain.
