Chapter 2

Salems POV 10 minutes later, I arrive at the school and make it through the courtyard and inside without incident. As I'm standing at my locker getting the books I need for the day, I hear laughter and someone coming up behind me. Before I even have a chance to react, my hair is grabbed and my head is bashed into the locker and as the grip on me releases, I fall to the floor and look up to see who it is this time. "Well, if it isn't the freak of the pack." sneered Michelle, the packs biggest b***h and slut. As always, she is flanked by her cronies Haley and Jessie. The three of them are your classic mean girls who think their s**t doesn't stink. They strut around the pack acting as if they own the place and everyone loves them. When in reality, or at least in my opinion, the only reason the future ranked members even bother with them is because they are an easy lay. "What nothing to say mutt? Maybe your life would be easier for you if you grew a backbone." Jessie taunted, while the others laughed. "I could say the same about you three, if we replace backbone with a brain. Maybe then you'd realize as soon as they find their mates, your so called 'boyfriends' will drop you like the trash you are." I reply, as I get myself up from the floor. "You fuc*ing b***h! How dare you! Not that its any of your business, but they've already promised to take us as their chosen." Jessie threw back at me. "Wow. You actually believe that, don't you? You really are as stupid as you look." If looks could kill, I'd be done already. You could almost see the steam coming out of their ears as they came towards me. I braced myself for what I knew was about to happen. Being hit by multiple people at once was nothing new for me. In fact, it was almost a weekly occurrence. Sure you could say I brought it on myself for egging them on, but I'm not the type to keep my mouth shut and let people walk all over me. Sure, it would save me a lot of pain, but before she was taken from me so cruelly, my mother taught me to stand up for myself. If I can keep her lessons and memory alive in my heart, her not being here hurts just a little less. Before I could even react, Haley and Jessie grabbed me by an arm each and shoved me into the lockers. While they held me down, Michelle started punching me in the face. Soon, the two holding me pulled my arms down sharply so I was back on the floor, and all three started kicking me. Although the pain was intense, I refused to allow myself to make a sound. I didn't want to give them the satisfaction. "Whats going on here?" a male voice inquired. A voice I'd know anywhere, a voice I knew would not do me any good in this situation. The girls stopped kicking long enough, for me to look up and see Jace Sebastian, the future alpha, along with his lackies, Thomas , the future beta, and Greg the future gamma. "Baby!" squealed Jessie and she ran up to Jace and wrapped her arms around him. "She was being horrible to us as usual and started insulting you guys as well. So we absolutely had to teach her a lesson." "Its true, we went up to her trying to be nice and all she did was insult us." added Haley from Gregs side, while Jessie nodded along and held on to Thomas. "Causing problems already mutt? The first bell hasn't even rung! Goddess, I wish my dad would just throw you out of the pack." said Jace. He detached himself from Michelle's grip and walked up to me, bent down, roughly grabbed my arm, pulled me to my feet, and proceeded to drag me behind him. "Time to see the principal. Can't have you starting fights now, can we b***h?"
