I felt like my whole world just got turned on its axis. Sally’s words just kept buzzing in my ears on repeat. All this time… She'd been pregnant all this time and never once said a word to anyone. Being in a bikini, it was easy to see she was far enough along that she had to have known. It was impossible for her not to.
Now that I think about it, so many things make sense, now. Her sudden illness that time, the way she'd been dressing, all those times I’d catch her with that “day-dreamy” look on her face, or how she would sometimes touch her hand to her belly for no apparent reason. Like a little while ago when I st*pidly thought she had an upset stomach.
