The Sassy and The Flirt

1191 Words
Lucas didn’t go home right away even though he was stressed. He needed to take care of something he considers important and there he was, standing at the front of Julia’s artworks studio. He was disappointed to see the place had closed for the day but he still stood glued on the ground, staring at the inside which was dark. Apart from her goddess-like look, he found Julia more interesting with her sassy attitude. The way she had talked to him and the way she made him instantly absorbed in her impertinence. A smile tugged on his lips as he got reminded of their coincidental encounters. Julia wasn’t actually interested in going to the class reunion. She had a work she needed to finish within the week but her closest friend, Laura dragged her along to the gathering. Just like she predicted, it ended in a fracas. She had gotten into a fight with a girl who usually gets on her nerves back in their middle school. She had stormed out of the bar where the gathering had taken place, on the thought of going off to her studio to calm herself down with work. Her car made an halt at the front of the studio. She takes a deep breath before opening the car door to get down. Only then did she sight the man in grey suit, hands in the pocket while their back was turned to her. She wondered who it was but immediately realized as soon as she took a good look at the familiar physique. It was him, the man who she could barely get out of her mind for the past three days, the man who she had had portraited on a sheet in her visual journal. She studied him for a while before moving on to walking closer to him. She made sure she had a sullen look on before deciding to speak. “What are you doing here” Lucas heard Julia’s gravelly voice from his back and he turned to face her. He had a playful smile on his lips as soon as he caught sight of the scowl plastered on her face. “I was passing by and I fortuitously ended up here” Lucas said which made Julia’s frown deepen. “Something a stalker would probably say….wait ! are you f*****g stalking me !” Julia half yelled as she stares at him with repulsion contradicting to her mind which is half excited of his presence. “How about you stop being quick to judgements” Lucas said, the smile had died down on his lips. He wasn’t upset by her accusations, his reaction was to how bold and sparkly her eyes were which amazed him. “Oh, you want me to believe everything is a goddarn coincidence and I should be like ‘oh hey, we are meeting occasionally, what if we are soulmates?’” Julia said with sarcasm. “We might be” Lucas said in a very sensual way which made words dry out of Julia’s mouth. Her mouth was open agape as they stare at each other intently. It took almost five minutes before she could recompose herself. She didn’t say any more word before storming away from him to sliding her keycard on the door lock. The machine blips in recognition and she pushes the door open to go in. Lucas didn’t hesitate before following her in. Julia switches on the lights around the wide sized Art studio filled with numerous artworks, all created by her. Lucas stared at the artworks while he had his hands in his pocket, taking slow steps towards long rows of Artworks. He gazed at them with amazement, surprised of how talented she is. “I never invited you in” Julia said while she attached a wide drawing board to an easel, she sets a derwent pencil wrap on a stool beside the easel before going on to packing up her hair in a messy bun. Lucas watched her keenly with his eyes measuring her up. Her long slender neck was exposed to his view and he hitched to drop kisses on them. More to drive him crazy, she got off the beige colored jacket she had on and it reveals the overly exposing cloth she wore underneath The black gown she had worn was a see-through fitted, skimpy one, he couldn’t see himself taking his eyes off her as she sets the jacket behind her drafting chair. She went off to get something from a corner Lucas’s eyes couldn’t reach and she came out, putting on an artist’s smock while walking back to take a seat on the drafting chair. “Are you done drooling” Julia said without glancing at him, she kept her eyes focused on whatever she was planning to draw down. “I can’t seem to get myself to stopping” Lucas said while he walks closer to her. He had a closed-mouth smile on, trying to conceal his true intentions. Julia heard him but chose to ignore his words. She knows well the type of guy he is. She had been with a lot of guys to know that, even though she never liked them. He is the type she liked the most, straightforward with no strings attached. The only thing that is keeping her away from also getting closer to him was the fact that they will be seeing each other more in the future. She doesn’t like having anything to do with them after they had had a passionate night and that gives her the reason to condemn whatever advances he’s throwing to her. She kept her gaze on the board while her mind was somewhere else. Lucas had stood very close behind her, monitoring her every move. She finds it hard to concentrate with how much close he was to her. She suddenly stomps the black pen she had in her grip on the stool and she sprang up from the seat. She turns back and immediately regrets it when they were inches away from each other. She almost lost her balance but Lucas’s arm caught her waist and their body collides. Almost immediately, she shifted away from him and got his hand off her waist. The thumping beat of her heart could almost be heard audibly to Lucas who had a smirk on when he sees her reaction, it turned out to him he wasn’t the only one interested. “I can’t concentrate with you here, you should leave” Julia said with a quiet voice rather than the sassy way she usually speaks. “Really, I’m pleased to hear that” Lucas said with a grin. “Ciao Adios….for now” Lucas said and turned to leave, only then did Julia realized what he had meant by him pleased with what she had said. Her face flared up as her cheek reddens with embarrassment. “That wasn’t what I meant you dimwit !” Lucas heard Julia shouted when he had almost reached the door. He didn’t turn back but only a smirk was plastered on his face.
