Chapter 4: I Didn'T Wear A Condom

1210 Words
There was no pharmacy near her company, and she needed to change buses and take three stops to get to the pharmacy. By the time she got off work at noon, her head was already a little dizzy, so she pushed her way onto the bus with feeble steps and went to the pharmacy to pick up some medicine. Only then did she realize that she was short of cash! Damn, I forgot to bring my bank card! Why is medicine so expensive these days? I regret that I gave the money to Theodore in the morning! She laughed helplessly in the face of the shopkeeper's glances and said apologetically, "Well, I'll just take the cheapest cold medicine." "This is the best way for me now to save some money for a taxi. " She was dizzy and did not want to walk that far to take the bus again. The clerk frowned and before she could say anything, a voice she never wanted to hear again suddenly sounded behind her and said, "How much is it? I'll pay for her." Jacqueline secretly gritted her teeth. How unlucky could she be to meet him again since they just separated in the morning! And she was in such a predicament!" Theodore walked up to Jacqueline without looking back and handed her a hundred-dollar bill. Glancing at her medicine in passing, he laughed sarcastically, "I thought you were here to buy the aftercare medicine?" "What aftercare medicine?" Jacqueline glared at him without good humor. "Tsk! You don't have any common sense, do you?" Theodore sneered, "The emergency contraceptive pill! I didn't use a condom yesterday." The clerk on the other side of the room slowly and pretentiously looked for money while trying to keep his ears open for gossip. "Is that so?" Jacqueline smiled coldly, "Then you're screwed! I happen to be infected with AIDS, let's all die together!" Theodore's eyes jumped invisibly at the corners, then snorted, "That's so unfortunate, because one person, ruined a city." Fuck Theodore! Why did Theodore come to a pharmacy? Who cares! What did she have to do with it? Theodore followed her out and took her by the wrist, while his other hand went up to her forehead. She is having a fever and her forehead was scalding! He couldn't help but frown, and then pulled her towards the car. "Let me go! What are you doing! You let go of me!" Jacqueline struggled hard, but she was small compared to Theodore, and week from her cold. She was shoved into the passenger side by Theodore easily. "Shut up!" Theodore yelled impatiently, "Look at the way you look now! I can even cook an egg on your forehead!" "What does it matter to you how I am!" Jacqueline glared at him coldly. "I'm doing it for your father's sake, otherwise who cares about you!" Theodore angrily held her down and said, "Will you stop being so stubborn!" "No!" Jacqueline said coldly, "I'm like my mother, I'm naturally stubborn!" "Mrs. Morse... Is she okay?" Theodore said a little regret as soon as the words left his mouth, and then looked at Jacqueline's eyes. He coldly misplaced his eyes, he did not want to see that biting hatred in Jacqueline's eyes. "Do you want to go to the office or go home? I can give you a ride." Theodore expressionlessly buckled her into the passenger seatbelt, then closed the door and walked quickly to the driver's seat before she could wrestle away, locking the door with her hand. Jacqueline tugged on the door, but it wouldn't open, so she stopped struggling. She hadn't eaten at lunch, and with a fever, she had neither the energy nor the ability to fight him now. "If I don't go home, my mother will worry," Jacqueline said expressionlessly. "You can't go to work like this!" Theodore said with an expressionless face, "Ask your boss for a leave." "Why are you so nosy!" Jacqueline didn't buy it. "Not everyone's business is worth my time." "Then my business is even less your business." Jacqueline laughed sarcastically, "Go to your Patricia, not to me if you want to be nice." "You're just as insensitive as ever!" Theodore sneered, "At least you should call me uncle. It's not a proper way for you to talk with your elders?" "Stop the car!" Jacqueline was exasperated with a cough, and when Theodore did not intend to stop, she simply made a move to grab the steering wheel. Theodore grabbed her hand with one hand and held the steering wheel with the other, saying in a vicious voice, "Behave yourself if you don't want to get killed!" "I'll die for your sake." Jacqueline's mouth said so, but the strength of the hand but a lot less. "Hypocrisy! You will not be willing to die!" "That's right! I'll save my life to see the day when you will be punished!" Jacqueline said, bringing up another cough. Sensing that she was no longer moving around, Theodore did not let go of her hand. Her palm was hot, with a thin layer of sweat. He rubbed it subconsciously. Her fingers were long and slender, and his mind flashed back to the way her hands looked on the black and white keys as if they were born for music. Jacqueline wrinkled her brow and drew back her hand in anger, her heart rhythm uncontrollably messed up. Fortunately, it's hard to trace her blush since she was in a fever! She shouldn't go near Theodore again, not even halfway! She hadn't thought he would come back, she had thought she and he could never see each other again in this life. "Why did you come back?" The atmosphere in the carriage was a bit awkward, Jacqueline was the first to break the silence. It was rare that Jacqueline could talk to him so calmly. Theodore hooked his lips slightly and sneered, "Will you believe me if I tell you that I came back for you?" "Hum ......" Jacqueline did not pay attention to him. She was now sleepy and hungry. Her head was still dizzy and swollen. She was a lovelorn girl, who was also suffering from a hangover and a cold... She would never dare to trample her body like this again. She was usually very careful and always tried everything to keep herself healthy. She was worried about how to go back at night to hide it from her mother's eyes when the car suddenly stopped. Jacqueline looked up and saw that it was a fast-food restaurant. Then, Theodore got out of the car, took a few steps to open the door for her. Seeing her dazed expression, Theodore leaned down and unbuckled her seat belt, and pulled her out. "What did you bring me here for?" Jacqueline said coldly. "To eat." Theodore looked at her as if she was a fool, and took her inside without stopping. Jacqueline simply stopped being pretentious, if she hadn't thrown all her money at him, she wouldn't have been so poor that she couldn't even afford to buy medicine. Now he's treating her to dinner with her money too! For Jacqueline, temperament or whatever in front of a hungry stomach, really nothing counts anymore.
