Alison found Alan standing by the lake in the backyard garden. His hands were in his pockets, and he looked distracted-his shoulders were shaking-Ariana realised that Alan had been crying. She went near him and touched him softly on the shoulder.
Alan jumped at her touch and hissed at her, "Don't touch me! Don't you dare touch me again!"
Ariana was shocked by his reaction. She never expected him to react this way. She composed herself and stepped back.
"Look, Alan," she tried to say, but he cut her off.
"Don't say a thing. It's you! You did this. If you hadn't rejected my claim back then, I wouldn't have left. I wouldn't have kept my parents out of my f****** life, Ariana, just to avoid YOU." He screamed at her.
