Aisha learned quickly that the pack house had two faces. One was quiet, orderly, almost respectful. The other smiled. She saw it in the common hall that evening, when the pack gathered for a routine briefing. Wolves lined the edges of the room, voices low, bodies relaxed but alert. The tension from the elders’ warnings still sat heavy in Aisha’s chest, making her feel smaller than usual. Amara entered like she belonged there. Confident. Poised. Perfect.
