The town transformed quietly, almost gently, as Christmas crept closer. Strings of lights were hung from lampposts, wreaths appeared on doors, and evergreen garlands lined the main street. Storefront windows glowed warm against the cold, and the scent of pine and cinnamon drifted through the air. Posters announcing the Christmas festival were taped everywhere—on café windows, bus stops, notice boards. Aisha noticed all of it. She always did. The season stirred something soft inside her chest, something hopeful. Even after everything she had been through, she still believed that kindness mattered most during times like these—especially during times like these. So when a volunteer sign-up sheet appeared at the community center, she didn’t hesitate. “I can help,” she said, smiling
