Chapter TenA couple of nights later
He lay in bed still. Eyelids shut, mouth closed, chest rising and falling as he breathed. He was in a hospital gown underneath sheets. The lights were out. In fact, the only light that could be seen was the one shining inside of the room from the hallway. Although the light wasn’t much, it was enough to outline the upper half of his body. The medical machinery beside his bed made their respective noises as they kept track of his vitals and monitored his heart. He had several cuts that covered his face and the side of his neck. At that moment, a fly flew around the room aimlessly, making that annoying sound that flies make. It eventually landed on his cheek and inched its way up, rubbing its hands together.
