21 Leah Leah sat in the driver seat of her car in the circular driveway in front of the Renaissance, watching Jace head out of the lobby with his backpack hiked up on his right shoulder. He was heading to the car carrying two cups with lids, and the hotel invoice. When he got in the passenger seat, he joked, “I can’t believe you drivin’ us back home.” Leah smiled when she playful twitched her nose. “I would like to sit back and let my hubby do all the driving like he usually does” — She puckered her lips up to him — “but, I’m going to give him a break today.” After they kissed, she said, “He deserves one after the work he put in last night.” They both laughed as Leah pulled out to Jefferson Avenue.
