Epilogue
At seven-thirty am Devon’s double bolted cell door opened. He grabbed what few belongings he had gathered in the small shared space and followed the officer’s escort to the reception area. After Devon and his belongings were stripped searched, he filled out all the necessary release paperwork. Once he took possession of the items he was booked with, he was free to go.
When he saw Jace’s truck waiting at the side entrance, his steps started to speed up.
