I woke wrapped in warm furs. The dizziness was gone, but I still felt weak. The sensation wasn’t painful, more like being overly tired and resting in a patch of summer shade while the lazy afternoon breeze cooled my soul. I could not seem to come fully awake and didn’t feel the need to. I stretched and purred like a kitten, trying to remember where I was. My purr was echoed by the tiny creature on my chest.
The room was dim, lit by a single flickering torch somewhere beyond the haze of my bed curtains.
