Drake POV
As soon as we finished eating Maddie fell fast asleep. She asked me to stay. This is the first time I have had her in my arms for the night. I want to say it was perfect, but missing her scent threw me off. Some of it lingered from showering with her bodywash but it wasn’t the same. Having her in my arms was perfect I reminded myself, I just hoped her scent and her wolf would return.
We still had not talked about her experiences. I was going to tackle that this morning before I dealt with Marsha. My Alpha had mind-linked me asking what I wanted to do. Kill her was the only option, that I could see. But I needed to know who she was working with, and why she gave Maddie up so easily.
