Kate POV
I head back to the Pack house wanting to change out of my business suit. I am feeling anxious over Amelie and need to feel comfortable in my skin. I knew the next 48 hours would be critical and telling if she would survive the wolfsbane poison. Her not surviving is not an option and I refuse to believe she won’t survive.
As I enter our room, I am overcome with the scent of Colby. I know he’s angry at everyone right now, but it hurt to have him shut me out. We need each other and shutting down is not going to help Amelie. I toss my clothes into the laundry basket as I grab a quick shower rinsing off the day’s travels. I quickly dry my hair and brush my teeth as I put my hair up into a high ponytail. Whatever is easiest for the next couple days, is my goal.
