It has been a week since we rescued Maddie. A lot had happened in that week. The doctors were able to save Samuel’s leg, but he would not be able to shift any time soon, if ever. There was significant damage to his leg. He required multiple screws inserted into his leg to hold it together. His wolf had not returned yet, so any self-healing was not happening until he returned. He was not gone – simply hibernating to heal itself. The doctors had to go back in to remove more infection twice, which also affected his muscle mass. All in all, he had been fortunate; however, he may never shift again. I am not sure which is better or worse, but time will tell for Samuel. For today he is happy to still have his leg.
