Getting home kept us busy, Amelie had been missing us like crazy. I knew she was well cared for when we were gone but both Colby and I felt that guilt a parent feels when we do not feel we are giving enough to our child. Having been torn in so many directions the past couple weeks really increased the challenge.
But we were home and dedicating our time to Amelie one hundred percent. The first day we got home, we let her stay home from school so we could go out and enjoy ourselves as a family. Of course, that set the precedent for Amelie to ask every day if we could do that, which we quickly shut down.
