I considered Gladys a unique thinker. According to reliable sources—Alex and Wembley—the transformation from human to vamp always impacted the victim’s personality. I believe the phrase “scrambled their brains” was used. In my case, many of the anxieties I used to deal with daily simply melted away. Many vampires sacrificed their empathy. I didn’t have a clue what had happened to Wembley.
