4 The Gladys Equation Gladys had just about convinced me that her vampy lunch buddy, Bitsy, was dead—which would have been convenient for Bitsy. First the illegal transformation she’d been pursuing and now she was wrapped up in a murder investigation. If the Society decided to bring Bitsy in for either, then being dead was a great alibi and an even better escape plan. I stretched the tense muscles in my neck. “Vampires get headaches.
